On 19 October 1950 the Hellenic Prince reached Wellington after a voyage from Bremerhaven. The following day's newspaper reported 973 passengers bound for the Pahīatua reception process, including 95 described in the contemporary classification as Polish-Ukrainians. The passenger figures describe one arrival rather than the camp's total population.
