When the large Karlsfeld camp north of Munich was wound up in the spring of 1946, those sent on to Mittenwald were directed to the Jäger barracks. Groups arrived from Karlsfeld and Füssen in late May and early June, bringing the teachers' seminary that had begun at Karlsfeld in 1945 with almost its full body of students.
