The Samaria arrived at Halifax on 3 December 1948 with 1,609 passengers after a stormy crossing from Le Havre. Le Havre and Cuxhaven were the two continental ports of the charter, with English, Irish and Scottish calls before Halifax, Quebec and Montreal.
