Bagnoli transit camp, Naples → Bathurst Reception Centre
A museum oral history follows a family travelling by air from Naples in December 1949 and being taken to the Bathurst reception camp after arrival in Sydney. Bagnoli and Bathurst belonged to successive stages of one journey. The same account remembers crowded floors of women and children at Bagnoli, men housed separately, restricted visiting hours and daily medical checks.
