The Ukrainian chaplain from Trani to Bagnoli, 1947
Trani, Apulia → Bagnoli transit camp, Naples
A Ukrainian chaplain who had served at Trani moved to Bagnoli and described several large multi-storey blocks on the San Laise hillside, with Naples reachable by tram and Capri and Vesuvius visible from his room. His memoir records refugees arriving from Austria and Germany during 1947 before boarding ships at Naples, Easter worship that year, a visiting Ukrainian bishop and permission from the British camp commander to visit Ukrainian accommodation and assist the sick.
