Brighton described as Tasmania’s Bonegilla, July 1949. The Advocate reported that the whole of the incoming party would be taken to a prepared camp at Brighton, where a reception hostel on similar lines to Bonegilla was being established, and that the migrants would be released to Tasmanian industry under a two-year probationary plan as the Commonwealth Employment Office placed them.
