The single Polish page is a postwar internment and labour camp. The Central Labour Camp at Jaworzno stood on the site of Neu-Dachs, a subcamp of Auschwitz, and from 1947 a separate section of it held the Ukrainians and Lemkos detained during Operation Vistula.12
Detention here was part of the deportation itself. Screening during the operation sent people from the resettled villages of the south-east straight to the camp; close to four thousand passed through its Ukrainian section between 1947 and 1949 and more than 160 died there, among them Greek Catholic and Orthodox clergy whose imprisonment has a documentary edition of its own.34
